Washington State Job Vacancies Fall 32%

The Washington Employment Security Department in Olympia says job vacancies in the Evergreen State fell 32% over a six month period.

Today the department reported that in October, employers were trying to fill 51,000 jobs, compared with 75,000 in April.

The department says the industries with the most jobs available were health care, retail, hotel and food services.

Also today, Redmond’s Microsoft announced it will eliminate 5,000 jobs.
