24125_astrazeneca_kudosMassive layoffs were ever present on Thursday as the tally of jobs lost reaches 13,000.

Drugmaker AstraZeneca, photo company Eastman Kodak, aircraft company Cessna, truck manufacturer Oshkosh, retailer Bon-Ton, and Charles Schwab all announced that they would be laying off workers.

Thursday was just another tragic day on the job market. The entire week has been mauled with job cuts. There were 15,000 cuts on Wednesday, 11,500 on Tuesday, and more than 71,000 on Monday.

AstraZeneca announced 6,000 job cuts worldwide. Kodak said it would be cutting 2,000 to 3,000 jobs throughout 2009. Cessna claimed they would be losing 2,000 jobs. Bon-Ton Stores are slated to slash 1,150 jobs.

Oshkosh reported an upcoming 1,050 layoffs and Charles Schwab plans to cut 500 to 600 jobs during the current quarter.
