Florida’s Republican Governor Charlie Crist toured a West Palm Beach job center Friday, encouraging unemployed Floridians to take advantage of the resources available to them.
The governor toured the nonprofit Workforce Alliance, which is charted by the state and funded with federal dollars.
Crist spoke with men and women searching for jobs and encouraged them to use the resources provided at the facility. Workers there offer counseling, job courses, resources and information about available jobs. They also work with employers looking to hire.
Crist said he supports President Barack Obama’s economic stimulus plan, which if passed would bring about $13 billion to the state.
