Rosenboom Machine and Tool, a manufacturing company based in Northwestern Iowa, is laying off 161 workers with the intention of brining back 130 of those employees in three months.

A Rosenboom Machine and Tool official says the cuts include 12 permanent and 65 temporary layoffs at its Sheldon facility and 19 permanent and 75 temporary layoffs at its Spirit Lake plant.

Human resources manager Jack Schreurs says the temporary layoffs are expected to last three months. Any workers who have been temporarily cut will continue to receive benefits.

With a background in tool and die making, Rosenboom, who has been in business since 1974, also works in robotics.
