The ServiceMaster Company plans to cut 155 jobs from its Memphis, Tennessee location.  Cuts will happen between March 21 and July 31, the company said.

Since being acquired by Clayton, Dublier and Rice Inc. in 2007, the ServiceMaster Company has been cutting back on its operations. In the fall, the company said it planned to cut as many as 200 information technology jobs locally. This latest filing is a result of those IT positions, according to a ServiceMaster spokesperson. The company warned the department as early as June of 2008 that the layoffs were a possibility.

In August, CEO Patrick Spainhour said “We continue to comprehensively evaluate our functional business processes for outsourcing and process re-engineering opportunities,” he said. “Specifically, we are reviewing our information technology, finance and strategic sourcing functions. Working toward a common IT infrastructure and standardized procurement practices, as examples, are just common sense approaches for a company of our size.”

ServiceMaster is the umbrella for such home service brands as TruGreen, Terminex, and Merry Maids.
