Lapeer Community Schools to Fire Administrators
Post Views 1A projected $3.5 million revenue shortfall at Lapeer Community Schools in Michigan could leave a dozen administrators looking for work.
School board members have voted unanimously to consider not renewing the contracts for the district’s 12 Deans of Students at the end of this school year.
The move would save the district roughly $600,000.
The dean of students position is a non-teaching position responsible for organizing student activities and handling other support activities.
Faced with declining enrollment, the board has been considering closing three of its nine elementary schools.
