Michigan Grants to Create 1,300 Jobs

More than $47 million in job-creation grants will be announced today by Michigan Lieutenant Governor John Cherry.

The projects are expected to create more than 1,300 jobs, constructing improvements to road, bridges and trail ways in 67 communities.

The funding comes from the state and from the federal stimulus program.

Cherry will travel to Flint, Detroit, Jackson and Grand Rapids today for the announcement.
