Tousa Ceasing New Home Orders, Laying Off Staff

Tousa, parent firm of Engle Homes, is laying off 65 employees at its offices in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Florida-based Tousa is in Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization, with its home building and financial arms hit hard by the real estate collapse. The company is no longer is seeking new home orders, and will close out existing stocks & sales and sell off assets.

Engle Homes has subdivisions in Arizona, Nevada and Colorado.
