Johnson & JohnsonJohnson & Johnson is cutting 900 jobs in one of its pharmaceutical units, about 6% of its US pharmaceutical positions.

The cuts will mostly affect sales representatives in the Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals unit. Some workers will be laid off, while other jobs will be eliminated through attrition and hiring freezes.

The firm blames a loss of revenue when one of its drugs went generic. Apparently, they had no idea that would happen.

Johnson & Johnson had 119,000 employees as of December.

Johnson & Johnson is a global American pharmaceutical, medical devices and consumer packaged goods manufacturer, founded in 1886.
