ohioflag_160x120Ohio’s unemployment rate hit 9.7% in March, a 25-year high, according to the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services.

The rate was 9.5% in February. In November, the state’s unemployment rate was 7.3%.

The number of job-seekers in Ohio last month was 578,000, up from 567,000 in February.

State officials expect several more months of job losses, and little reversal of the unemployment rate until early 2010.
