Michigan flagThe State of Michigan will spend $63 million federal stimulus dollars to create summer jobs for low-income at-risk young people, ages 14-24. The jobs are also targeted at ex-military personnel.

Detroit will receive $11.4 million to create up to 7,000 jobs in health care, green jobs, and police and fire cadet programs.

Eligibility for the jobs will be based on family income and other variables, such as poor education, pregnancy, or disability. Runaways may also qualify.
