Cessna Aircraft to Close Plant, Lay Off 89

Cessna Aircraft is closing an Oregon plant, and will lay off 1,600 workers across the firm.

The company will be reducing production this year from 375 business jets to 325.

The Cessna Aircraft Company is an airplane manufacturing corporation headquartered in Wichita, Kansas. Their main products are general aviation aircraft. Although they are the most well-known for their small, piston-powered aircraft, they also produce business jets. The company is a subsidiary of the US conglomerate Textron.
