MetroHealth Lays Off 270

Cleveland’s MetroHealth Medical Center will cut 400 jobs, or six percent of its workforce.

The hospital will lay off 270 workers and eliminate 130 open positions. Those affected have been notified.

The cuts affect administrative positions and nurses. A van transportation system for patients has also been eliminated.

MetroHealth laid off 100 workers last year.
