Moore County, NC Schools to Cut 90 Teachers, Others

Moore County, North Carolina schools will cut 90 positions due to budget cuts.

The district will cut 37 teachers and 38 teaching assistants. An assistant principal job and some other non-teaching positions will also be cut.

Some positions will be cut through hiring freezes, retirements and terminating temporary contracts.

The schools will use $650,000 in stimulus money to save 13 jobs.
