Becton Dickinson to Hire 40 for New North Carolina Plant

Franklin Lakes, New Jersey-based Becton, Dickinson and Company has purchased a plant in Mebane, North Carolina, and will hire 40 new workers.

BD is investing $20 million in the Mebane facility, which will manufacture laboratory instruments used in diagnosing cancer. The company will keep its existing facility in Burlington, which employs 100 people.

Becton, Dickinson and Company is a medical technology company that manufactures and sells medical devices, instrument systems and reagents. Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, BD does business in nearly 50 countries, with 27,000 employees.
