Auburn, New York to Remove HR Director Position

As of July 1st, the City of Auburn, New York will no longer employ a human resources director. The city council voted this week to remove the position.

Two councilors said the city government needs an HR head to function properly.

Karen Green was the HR director from the time the position was created in February 2008. It pays $71,000 a year.

Auburn Mayor Michael Quill, says many of the tasks handled by the HR department were previously handled by the city attorney or the city manager.
