Jostens to Close North Carolina Plant, Cut 185 Employees

Yearbook and class ring manufacturer Jostens, the company on which you wasted so much money your last year in high school, is shutting down its plant in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, laying off all 185 employees.

Yearbook printing operations will be consolidated at the firm’s other facilities.

Jostens is a provider of yearbooks, class rings for various high schools and colleges, and championship rings for sports, including the Super Bowl rings. Otto Josten founded the company in 1897, as a watch repair business in Owatonna, Minnesota. As well as its headquarters in Minneapolis, Jostens has facilities in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Kansas, California, and South Carolina.
