channellock_160x120Meadville, Pennsylvania’s Channellock is looking for 25 of its workers to accept voluntary three-month furloughs, in an effort to avoid involuntary layoffs.

The firm, which employs over 400 people, has been working four-day weeks. They hope that business will pick up in the three-month period.

Tracing its history to 1886, Channellock manufactures locking pliers and hand tools with trademark blue grips. They have a product line called Nutbuster, so there’s that.
