The cuts will include both layoffs and vacant positions. The firm employs 7,500 people globally.

IMS Health is an international company that supplies the pharmaceutical industry with sales data and consulting services. IMS Health was founded in 1954 by Bill Froch and David Dow. Today IMS has operations in more than 100 countries, a global workforce of 7,500 employees, and revenues of $2 billion.

It recently moved its headquarters from Fairfield, Connecticut to Norwalk.
