Ohio’s Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department will be able to keep 15 deputies, due to $3.5 million in federal stimulus funds.
The money is from the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Program, which is part of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act.
The county also seeks funds to ease jail overcrowding, by expanding its electronic monitoring program and improving jail intake procedures.
