midwestairlines_160x120Midwest Airlines is laying off 120 pilots and flight attendants and cutting 50 additional jobs. The affected flight crews staff the last of Midwest’s fleet of 717 jets, which are being replaced by airplanes operated by Midwest’s new owner, Republic Airways Holdings. The Midwest crews may be brought back, according to company spokesmen, once the unions decide among themselves how to combine their seniority lists.
