delldude_300x225Dell inc. is closing a computer manufacturing plant in North Carolina, putting 900 people out of work. 600 of those jobs will end in November, with the remainder to last until January. The plant opened in 2005 under a deal that gave Dell $300 million in state and local incentives. In return Dell is required to invest $100 million, create 1,700 jobs by September 2010 and maintain those jobs for 10 more years. If they fail to do so, they will lose the incentives. Dell has said they will meet their obligations, but has not provided details on how they plan to do so.
