floridaflag_160x120U.S. Gas & Electric announced it will remain in South Florida and create an additional 125 jobs in the area following a $162,000 pledge for job growth incentives from Miami-Dade County and the state.

According to the South Florida Business Journal, U.S. Gas & Electric had considered moving its headquarters to Pittsfield, Mass. But with the incentive, which was arranged by The Beacon Council, the company has elected to remain and open a new 24,000 square-foot office in Doral.

“We believe that Miami-Dade County offers our business a strong and solid platform for attracting and retaining new and current employees as we continue to operate and expand our business throughout North America,” USG&E President and CEO Doug Marcille said in a statement.

The incentives will be earned by USG&E over several years after the jobs are created, according to the Business Journal. The incentive package was approved in December.
