According to a spokesperson for Trane, a manufacturer of air conditioners, has announced that a plant in Fort Smith, Arkansas will let go 131 employees as the plant relocates a line of products to Florida.

The announcement confirmed that starting October 11th, 131 more employees will get the axe. This follows the August 2nd announcement of 68 layoffs.

Earlier in the year, the air conditioner manufacturer revealed its plans to transport a product line from the Western Arkansas facilities to Lynn Haven, Flordia. The layoffs are of no surprise, as the company vowed that total layoffs would approach 212 employees by the end of 2010. An executive at Trane said the company expects to have completed the relocation of the product line by the end of the year.

Trane sent out 68 pink slips this month, while the 55 others will have their jobs until October. 270 employees will remain at the Fort Smith locations.
