Boeing Expanding St. Louis Operations

Boeing is bringing around 75 jobs to MidAmerica St. Louis Airport with the opening of a new manufacturing plant.

The St. Louis Business Journal reports the company recently entered into a long-term lease with St. Clair County for an existing 50,000-square-foot facility. The plant is scheduled to open as soon as later this year.

Boeing, which is investing $7 million in the facility, will also receive a $2.3 million business investment package from the state of Illinois. The facility will be Boeing’s first manufacturing center in Illinois. Boeing is one of the largest employers in St. Louis with 16,000 workers locally. The company has 68,000 employees worldwide.
