Fortune Brands Expanding With 300 Jobs

Consumer brands company Fortune Brands Inc. is adding more than 300 jobs over the next three years to support an increase in business, the Associated Press reports.

Fortune Brands, which is headquartered in Deerfield, Ill., provides products in three consumer categories—distilled spirits, home & security and golf. The expansion will come in the company’s MasterBrand Cabinets unit. It is the result of being selected by The Home Depot Inc. to provide cabinets for the new Martha Stewart kitchens line that launches in stores around the U.S. next month.

The new jobs will be added at the company’s plant in Kinston, N.C. MasterBrand Cabinets President Greg Stoner told the AP the facility has already been outfitted to support the new business.

Fortune Brands reported sales of  $6.7 billion in 2009 and has 24,000 workers overall.
