101 Scheduled Layoffs by Orion Bus in NY

Orion Bus in Oriskany, New York is letting 101 workers go as of mid-October.

A revision in production numbers was made and Orion consequently adjusted their employment needs. The affected employees will be directly notified on October 1, with an effective release date of October 18, 2010.

“Over the last several weeks we have been working with Union leadership at both locations devising long-term plans that would impact the least amount of employees. I want to personally thank them for their efforts,” said Richard O. Ferguson, president and CEO for Daimler Buses North America. ”We are mindful the direct impact these decisions will have on our employees.”
