vegas_160x120Las Vegas, Nevada Hotel Casino The Cosmopolitan is attempting to fill thousands of jobs before its end-of-the-year grand opening via a virtual hiring process.  Instead of dealing with all the hassle, crowds, long lines, and hours of waiting for a traditional job fair, The Cosmopolitan is going with an internet approach, giving candidates the chance to apply for a job from the comfort of home.

The job fair, which started Tuesday, September 28th at about noon, ran through the evening, allowing potential candidates to log on to The Cosmopolitan’s website, then go through their respective booths for information on the variety of jobs being offered.

The Cosmopolitan, a Las Vegas resort casino, hotel and condo, is on the west side of the Las Vegas Strip just south of The Bellagio.  The Cosmopolitan, which broke ground in late 2005, will be having its grand opening at the end of 2010.  The $3.9 billion project will consist of a 75,000 square foot casino, 300,000 sqare feet of retail and restaurant space, 2,200 condominium units, 800 hotel rooms, a 40,000 square foot spa and fitness center, an 1,800 seat theater, and a 150,000 square foot meeting and convention space.

Speaking of the virtual job fair, Sherry Harris, chief strategy officer at The Cosmopolitan, said, “We’ll have videos so people can learn more about The Cosmopolitan and even talk to managers in a real live time chat.”
