Honda Plant Expansion in Ohio: 100 New Positions

Honda announced the planned expansion of their Russells Point manufacturing plant  in Ohio on Thursday, which will be adding 100 jobs and 200,000 square feet of factory space.

The Russels Point plant produces transmissions for a wide variety of models, such as the Accord and CR-V.

The hiring is an indicator of economic times starting to recover, as in recent years both Honda and other car manufacturers have been reducing their workforce. Honda currently has several thousand fewer workers in Ohio relative to their peak a few years ago.

“[the expansion] will enhance the plant’s capabilities with the introduction of new technologies and manufacturing advancements,” a company statement declared.
