West Virginia HR Department Helps Launch WVeScript Program

A new electronic prescription initiative is being launched for Medicaid providers by the West Virginia Departmentn of Health and Human Resources.

The program will be called WVeScript. It will consist of a system that allows doctors to send prescriptions electronically to pharmacies. Physicians who choose to utilize the program will be able to use send the electronic prescriptions for all of their patients, thus beyond the scope of those enrolled in Medicaid.

Along with the new WVeScript program, the state’s Health Department is offering financial aid to those continuing their medical education credits for enrollment in the WVeScript program.
