Ashley Furnitures Lays Off 65 In Mississippi

Ashley Furniture Industries operation in Ecru, Mississippi, has announced plans to lay off 65 employees. It has attributed the layoffs to increased foreign competition.  The company will restructure work assignments amidst the layoffs.

Just two years ago, the furniture company slashed nearly 200 jobs in its Ecru and Ripley locations, amounting to around 5 percent of its workforce.

Currently, Ashley employs around 2,900 throughout Mississippi.
