newjerseyflag_160x120The New Jersey legislature has agreed to make a concerted effort to begin focusing on legislation that will bring job growth to the state.

The result is a legislative package entitled  “Back to Work NJ” which is being spearheaded by Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver.

“We get it. It’s the economy,” Sweeney said. “Too many people are out of work as we speak. Too many people are losing their homes still.”

New Jersey has experienced the loss of 42,000 public-sector jobs this year and the state unemployment rates sits at 9 percent.

“There are things we can do legislatively that will provide confidence to businesses in this state that they can make investment in expanding, in creating new avenues of business, creating new revenue streams for themselves, which bode well for our residents,” commented Oliver.
