toyota Toyota Motors Corp., one of the world’s largest automobile manufacturers, announced a plan to add full-time employees at its southern Indiana factory due to the plant’s improving sales revenue. Toyota currently employs over 4,000 workers at the factory located north of Evansville. This year, the automobile maker has added 100 permanent employees in the plant after lifting a four-year hiring freeze in September.

Kelly Dillon, factory spokeswoman, explained that the additional full-time jobs are attributed to the increasing sales at the plant. “Toyota has seen improved sales for the Highlander mid-size SUV and the Sienna minivan that are made at the plant. Toyota is cautious in hiring and wouldn’t add the full-time jobs if it didn’t anticipate continued strong sales.” However, Dillon did not elaborate on the details as to an exact number of workers to be hired and when.
