New Tennesse Gov. Appoints New Commissioner of Human Resources

Rebecca Hunter has been appointed the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Human Resources.

Governer Bill Haslam appointed Hunter to the position today, saying, “I want to welcome Rebecca Hunter to what I believe is an outstanding team of professionals here to serve Tennessee. Rebecca has the ground-level experience with Human Resources to help up become more efficient and effective.”

Currently, Hunter serves as the Hamilton County Human Resources director, where she has been for the past six years.

Hunter released the following statement following the announcement: “I am truly honored and humbled at this wonderful opportunity to serve the citiziens of the state of Tennessee, and I look forward to working with [governor] Haslam and his staff on the challenges facing our state.”
