The US Postal Service (USPS) is undergoing serious financial problems and at the same time seeking to address the issue through Union layoffs. The poor performance of USPS has been blamed on online bill paying and private parcel service providers. There is a move to lose thousands of post offices and processing centers, reduce the work force, restructure health care plan, and do away with Saturday delivery, in a bid to save $20 billion by 2015.
