Jeffrey Shuman is the vice president for the Harris Corporation. Most recently, Jeffrey Shuman was announced the Human Resources Executive for 2011. He received this very special honor at a ceremony that was held at the Four Seasons hotel.

When Shuman received this honor, he was applauded on all that he has done for human resources. It is believed that Jeffrey Shuman goes above and beyond what he is supposed to do and has a lot of potential which made him a shoe-in for the executive position. Shuman worked hard to help his own company advance with unique strategies.

The president of Harris Corporation, Howard Lance, has said, “Not often does a CEO get to see someone come on and effect such change. He is the quintessential partner to the CEO.” Lance spoke highly of Shuman and made it obvious that he thinks Shuman is fantastic at what he does with human resources.

When Shuman accepted the honor, he said, “In a world order that has changed…an in a world where social media has completely changed the way we communicate, don’t underestimate the impact you can have in your own organization. Act as a business leader in human capital management and learn to speak the language of your customers.” Shuman finished off his acceptance speech with a quote from Colin Powell.

While Shuman was one of the most honorable attendees of the night, there were other individuals who received honors as well. William S. Allen received an honor for his efficiency as a vice president for the human resources in Denmark. The vice president for human resources in Chicago, William J. Colbourne, also received notable recognition and honors. His honor was for making all of his employees feel as though they are part of a team. Colbourne offers his employees an immense amount of respect and appreciates all of the knowledge that his employees are willing to share with him, with customers, and amongst one another.

The director of human resource in California, Gayle Satchwell, received honors for helping with budget cuts. Satchwell was able to design strategies that helped with tightening budgets and helped companies to create negotiations. Because of Satchwell, more than a million dollars was saved throughout the year.

Last but certainly not least, the vice president for human resources in San Diego, Victor V. Buzachero, also received notable honors. The company he joined was suffering and he turned the entire company around. Buzachero helped save the company by coming up with strategies and solutions. He also worked on communication with the company which helped it to go from rock-bottom to the very top. His ability to make such dramatic changes is widely recognized by his colleagues.
