Lake Oswego Teams Up With Poo Free Parks

Lake Oswego has recently teamed up with Poo Free Parks as a way of hoping to prevent dog owners from allowing their dog to poo and not cleaning up after it. The partnership between Lake Oswego and Poo Free Parks has been locked in with a contract that lasts for the next three years. Poo Free Parks is a company that is primarily based in Colorado that focuses mainly on pet waste and services that will offer bags for pets poo to dog owners via dispensers  Both Lake Oswego staff members and employees of Poo Free Parks are excited about their new partnership and cannot wait to be able to work with one another while keeping these beautiful parks clean and safe for the public, according to Oregon Live.com.

The Poo Free Parks company will maintain the waste bag dispensers on a weekly basis to make sure that there are plenty of poo bags available for dog owners. When a dog goes to the bathroom, it is the responsibility of the dog owner to pick up after their dog. However, with bag dispensers at their convenience, the owners of these dogs will be more inclined to actually pick up after their dog when it uses the bathroom. In return from providing this service for Lake Oswego, the dispensers will feature logos and advertisements that Poo Free Parks will choose. The employees of Poo Free Parks will also be allow to pass out flyers bi-yearly. This is something fairly new for Lake Oswego as they usually do not allow companies and businesses to advertise in the parks or on the dispensers.
Lake Oswego spends nearly $30,000 each year to keep up with their bag dispenser stations. Now that Poo Free Parks will be taking over the maintenance of the bag dispenser stations, the city can use the $30,000 they spent each year on the maintenance of the dispensers and use the money on other things that will benefit the parks such as supplies and equipment for the different parks.

The employees at Poo Free Parks stand by their slogan and continue to ensure that parks are clean and that all animal poo is cleaned up and taken care of so that more people are able to enjoy the beautiful parks. Poo Free Parks is partnered with over 100 different parks in the Colorado area as well as areas in California and Illinois.  Now that they are partnering with Lake Oswego, they are now partnered with parks in the Oregon area too.

The staff members for Lake Oswego have said that they would like to work on a plan with Poo Free Parks that would actually limit certain types of advertisement which include tobacco advertisements and even alcohol advertisements.
