Majority of Americans have received government aid

A recent study by the Pew Research Center shows that 55 percent of Americans have received aid from the major entitlement programs in their lifetimes. These programs include: Medicare, Social Security, Unemployment Benefits, Food Stamps, Medicaid and welfare. When other entitlement programs like college loan grants, and veteran benefits are factored in the number jumps to 70 percent of Americans. The study also looked at what types of people have received government benefits.
