High Court allows employees to release wage claims

The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s recent ruling must have come as a shot in the arm for employees, although the same must have upset the employers, and the lower courts too. The Court has come to a conclusion that employees can release claims under the Massachusetts Payment of Wages Law, subject to the provision that the release is stated in clear terms, and also specifically refers to the Wage Act.
