Florida JobsThe payroll processing firm of ADP released a new report about employment and Florida received some very good news. According to the report, the state had its best month in 2013 for job gains in December. The state added some 25,200 jobs, according to The Orlando Sentinel.

For the region, Florida ranked second behind Texas, which added 29,100 jobs for the month of December in 2013. In November, Florida added 19,450 jobs, which makes December a nice increase.

ADP estimated that across the country there were 238,000 jobs for the month of December. This is a much larger number compared to the 74,000 estimated new jobs by the government.

ADP said that the state gained 170,000 jobs in the private sector for 2013. In its estimates, the company does not include public-sector jobs.

The job gains for the month of December were the largest one-month gain for the state since 2006. The report shows that the job growth was centered in service-sector jobs. These jobs pay less than manufacturing jobs. In the service sector there were 21,480 jobs and goods-producing jobs increased by 3,750.

The largest gains across the state for December came in the sector of professional and business services. This sector gained just over 8,000 jobs during the month. The sector of trade, transportation and utilities added 5,200 jobs for the month.
