Sri Lanka’s US Dollar Bond Rated at ‘BB-(EXP)’ by RPT-Fitch

Sri Lanka’s soon to be released global bonds in U.S. denominations has earned a provisional BB- rating from Fitch Ratings. This rating is in line with the country’s current financial standing, which is also BB-. Although the national debt is fairly high, Sri Lanka’s government has committed to midterm debt reduction. However, there is still some risk of economic overheating.
