In a survey released earlier this week, confidence in hiring at companies across the United States has reached a six-year high. ManpowerGroup released the survey, which is called The Manpower Employment Outlook Survey. It was conducted for the third quarter, according to SCTimes.

The survey found a Net Employment Outlook of plus-14 percent, which is the highest level since the second quarter of 2008. There are worldwide, national and regional components of the survey. In the Midwest and Northeast regions of the country, 22 percent of employers said that they are planning to increase their staffing levels during the third quarter.

In the Midwest, four percent of employers expect to reduce their staffing levels in the third quarter, which is good for a net employment outlook of 18 percent, or 13 percent when seasonally adjusted. In the Northeast, five percent of employers plan to decrease their payrolls in the third quarter, which is good for a net employment outlook of 17 percent, or 12 percent when seasonally adjusted.

The South and West regions also showed a positive hiring outlook for the third quarter, at 14 and 13 percent, respectively. These percentages are seasonally adjusted. The leisure and hospitality industry had the best outlook for the third quarter as 40 percent of responding companies saying they plan to hire.
