Union agrees to concessions in a deal with Gov. Cuomo

In order to save hundreds of jobs of members in New York’s second-largest union of public workers, a five-year agreement between Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the Public Employees Federation was agreed on Saturday. The deal must be ratified by the union’s membership, which is approximately 55,000 state workers. If ratified, the state of New York would save $75 million this fiscal year and approximately $400 million over the duration of the contract.
