It is a fact that those who are forced to do something else other than what they themselves wish to do often are the frustrated ones of the society. It is therefore very important to understand where ones interest lies and then follow it. Especially when ones career is concerned, following ones dreams and aspirations are particularly important. If you are a confused brain, then follow certain basic rules or rather ways to reach to the conclusion.

Make a list of your top 10 interests. It may sound a bit childish but even if it does, do it! If necessary go through your book shelf one in order to find what reference books you had in the past and on what subject or hobbies. It is important to pay particular attention to people speaking about their hobbies and passions. What can be done next is buy a few magazines and mark the things that interest you with a highlighter.

Note them down and see whether they come back to your mind over and over again or not. If you find any of them lingering in your mind for a long time, and it feels great to think about it, then undoubtedly that is your interest and that is your dream. It is then your responsibility to follow those dreams and becoming successful in life.

There is a few other ways of understanding where your interest lies. For example, another good way of understanding what your interest is, is to analyze certain reactions.

Let us think about a hypothetical situation where you have to quit something you do. If, in the process of quitting it you feel bad, lonely, if you feel that you are going to miss it, or even if you shed tears in the situation, then understand that there lies your dream. There lies your interest and it is from there that you can aim at seeing the face of success.

Mark twain once said, ‘find out where people are going and get there first’. But now with the advent of the society, it seems a bit mismatched. Now has come the time to run after what you feel you want to achieve and not what others feel they want to achieve. If this can be done, then there will be no one to stop you from reaching your target.
