Nike To Tell 1,400 Workers ‘Just Do It — Somewhere Else’

Athletic apparel manufacturer Nike will restructure, with the loss of as many as 1,400 jobs.

The company will downsize its management teams, and reorganize to focus on six geographic regions, such as Western Europe and China, instead of the current four. The goal is to shed management layers.

Nike will complete a review of the organization by the end of its fiscal year in May. Details of the job cuts won’t be decided until the review is complete and unions are notified.
