Deere Consolidates, Cuts 200 More Jobs
Post Views 0Deere & Co., the world’s largest manufacturer of farm machinery, will merge its agricultural and equipment businesses, creating a Worldwide Agriculture and Turf Division.
The action will mean layoffs for 200 salaried employees. The company employs more than 55,000 people worldwide.
Deere’s consumer and commercial equipment division has been hit by declining home construction and plummeting consumer spending.
A few days ago, Deere announced 160 indefinite layoffs at its Des Moines, Iowa plant.
