SaabGeneral Motors’ Saab Automobile unit will lay off 701 employees.

Saab reached an agreement with labor unions, and decreased the job cut total from 750.

The 646 blue-collar and 55 white-collar employees will work their last day Friday.

General Motors purchased half of Trollhättan, Sweden’s Saab Automobile AB in 1989.
