San Bernadino, California Restores Vacant Firefighter Jobs
Post Views 0Eight vacant firefighter positions which were recently cut from the San Bernadino, California Fire Department to save $1.2 million, may be restored.
Councilman Chas Kelley says approving the cuts in February was an “oversight,” which is politician-ese for “mistake,” and hopes fellow council members will agree. Kelley is supported by the firefighters’ union.
The vacancy eliminations affected three stations, cutting each engine company from four firefighters to three.
The fire union is papering the community with flyers promoting the reestablishment of the positions.
