RossignolFrance’s Skis Rossignol will lay off 450 workers globally, including 12 at its Park City, Utah US headquarters.

The layoffs affect 30% of staff worldwide. The company is responding to a 40% drop in ski market business.

Rossignol also held layoffs in France, where 275 employees were affected.

Rossignol SA is a French manufacturer of alpine, snowboard, and Nordic equipment, as well as related outerwear and accessories, headquartered in Isère, France. Rossignol was one of the first companies to produce plastic skis.

In 2005, Rossignol was bought by the boardsport equipment manufacturer Quiksilver for $560 million. In 2008, Quiksilver made a deal to sell Rossignol for $147 million to a former chief executive, Bruno Cercley.
