Hewlett-Packard to Lay Off 6,400
Post Views 0Palo Alto, California’s Hewlett-Packard will cut 6,400 workers, 2% of the company’s global workforce.
The cuts are in addition to 24,600 layoffs resulting from HP’s acquisition of Electronic Data Systems, and will take place over the next 12 months.
HP’s profits have dropped 17% to $1.72 billion, while sales have fallen 3% to $27.4 billion.
HP employed 321,000 people in October 2009.
